Ficus Benjamin is one of the most beautiful and unpretentious leafy decorative indoor plants. It can be found in almost every home, office, balcony or even garden, and is so preferred mainly because of the beautiful and dense, tree-like crown, which we can shape with very little care and persistence. Benjamin has small, shiny leaves that can be monochrome (green, dark green) or variegated (different combinations of green, white, creamy and even grayish), smooth or curly, elongated at the end. In indoor conditions, it can reach a height of 20-30 cm to 3-4 m.

Exposure: To grow Ficus Benjamin, you need to place it in a bright but diffuse light. This can be on the east or west side of the house, away from direct sunlight. The plant loves warmth and feels good at temperatures between 16-24 degrees Celsius. It is important not to expose it to sharp temperature changes or cold drafts.

Watering: It likes to be watered regularly but not excessively. The soil should be kept moist but not wet. When watering, wait for the top of the soil to dry before watering it again. Air humidity is also important for the plant, so if it is dry in the house, you can place a vase of water near the plant or use an air humidifier, spraying is also an option.

Feeding and transplanting: In spring and summer, you can feed the plant with liquid fertilizer once a month. In addition, Ficus Benjamin needs to be transplanted into a large pot every 2-3 years. Choose well-drained soil and add a little perlite or sand to ensure good air circulation around the roots.

Although Ficus Benjamin is an unpretentious plant, it still has some basic requirements to develop well. Water the plant regularly, waiting for the top of the soil to dry between waterings. The air in the room should be humid enough to avoid drying out the leaves.

Finally, watch for pests and diseases that can affect Ficus Benjamin. Problems usually include leaf dryness, yellow spots, and the presence of pests such as spiders and flies. If you notice similar problems, you should act quickly to prevent...
